Watch a sample from our training module on anxiety.
If you’ve ever found yourself standing in front of a student thinking, “I’ve tried everything… why isn’t it working?” – you’re not alone.
Supporting Autistic and ADHD students can be rewarding, but it can also feel confusing, exhausting, and unpredictable. One day everything clicks, and the next, the same strategies fall apart.
It was created to help teachers, aides, and school leaders make sense of what’s really happening — and to respond with confidence instead of frustration. It’s not about managing behaviour; it’s about understanding the brain behind it, so you can reduce stress, protect connection, and keep learning on track.
We deliver training designed to fit the realities of schools.
Every educator knows the feeling: a student is anxious, overwhelmed, or refusing, and nothing you try seems to help. You’ve followed the behaviour plans, used the strategies you’ve been given, and still end up spending more time de-escalating than teaching.
Traditional behaviour approaches weren’t designed for the Autistic or ADHD brain.
They don’t explain why a student shuts down after recess, panics at transitions, or melts down when faced with simple tasks. And when we can’t see the “why,” it’s easy to feel stuck — unsure what else to try, or how to support a student who’s already doing their best just to get through the day.
Inside Autism was created to bridge that gap — helping educators understand what’s really happening for Autistic and ADHD students: how their brains process information, what their learning barriers are, and how to support them in neuro-affirming, inclusive ways that reduce stress for everyone in the classroom.
Developed by Jackie Hall, a registered counsellor with a Graduate Certificate in Education (Autism), this training aligns with evidence-based classroom frameworks used across Australia — from Universal supports through to Targeted and Intensive interventions.
It’s built to meet you where you are, using language, tools, and examples that fit the rhythm of real school life.
How the Autistic and ADHD brain experiences the classroom, what drives school avoidance and shutdowns, and how educators can respond in ways that protect safety, connection, and learning.

We also offer customised training for schools year-round.
Inside Autism translates research and neuroscience into strategies teachers can actually use — in the middle of a lesson, during transitions, or when everything feels like it’s unravelling.
Across our training options — from 2-hour PD sessions to full Inside Autism courses — you’ll learn how to:
When educators apply these strategies, the whole tone of the classroom changes. Students who once resisted begin to engage. Staff respond with confidence instead of stress. And leaders see a calmer, more connected school culture emerging — one that supports both learning and wellbeing.
Join educators across Australia for live, interactive training aligned with state PD days.
Topics include:
Each 2-hour session includes a 30-minute Q&A, 30-day replay access, downloadable resources, and a PD certificate.
For almost two decades, Safe to Grow has been helping people understand the Autistic and ADHD brain — and turn that understanding into change that lasts. Through our sister organisation, The Parental Stress Centre, we’ve supported over 7,000 families, delivered webinars to more than 35,000 participants (80 percent professionals), and earned a 4.9-star average from 370+ Google reviews.
Now, the same frameworks that have transformed homes are reshaping classrooms.
Educators tell us that after completing Inside Autism training:
“My classroom feels calmer — and so do I.”
“I finally understand what’s behind the behaviour.”
“We’re all on the same page now.”
Inside Autism is grounded in current research and evidence-based educational practice. Every strategy connects directly to the frameworks schools already use — from universal classroom supports to targeted interventions — making it simple for educators to apply the learning straight away.
Teachers say the program helps them handle the moments that used to derail their day — the shutdowns, meltdowns, and aggressive reactions; the anxiety-driven “school can’t” mornings; and the constant balancing act between supporting neurodivergent students and teaching the rest of the class.
Inside Autism gives you practical tools to reduce escalation, respond to dysregulation, and create an environment where learning can happen again.
It doesn’t add more to your plate — it makes what you already do work better.
When the focus shifts from behaviour management to understanding, teachers spend less time firefighting and more time actually teaching.
Hi, I’m Jackie Hall — the founder of Safe to Grow and creator of Inside Autism.
I’m a registered counsellor with over 15 years of experience supporting Autistic and ADHD individuals and their families — and I’ve had the privilege of walking beside more than 7,000 families through our sister organisation, The Parental Stress Centre.
Through our live webinars and trainings, I’ve also reached over 35,000 participants — the majority of them professionals — across schools, allied health, and community organisations.
After thousands of conversations, patterns become clear.
You start to see the same barriers and the same strengths showing up in different homes, classrooms, and systems — and you learn what truly helps neurodivergent kids thrive, and what unintentionally shuts them down.
That vantage point — seeing the full picture from both family and professional perspectives — is what inspired me to build Inside Autism: a training that bridges clinical understanding with practical classroom tools for both Autistic and ADHD learners.
Alongside my counselling background, I hold a Graduate Certificate in Education (Autism) — advanced training that helps me apply my knowledge directly to educational settings.
I’ve studied inclusive and neuro-affirming practices, supportive engagement, and how to design learning environments that meet students where they are — across Universal, Targeted, and Intensive levels of support.
My work combines top-down approaches (helping educators understand what’s happening in the brain and emotions) with bottom-up tools (working with the body and nervous system to restore safety and regulation). It’s about turning theory into action — helping teachers respond effectively in those intense, real-world moments of shutdowns, meltdowns, hyperactivity, or “school can’t” days.
More than anything, I believe that when teachers feel supported and students feel understood, everyone gets to grow — together.
These sessions are designed specifically for educators, teacher aides, and leaders who want practical, neuro-affirming strategies to better support Autistic and ADHD learners. Each session builds understanding, confidence, and connection—helping you create classrooms where every student feels safe to learn.
We’ve aligned the dates with official PD days for each Australian state so your team can attend live, earn a PD certificate, and access replays for 30 days.

Teaching and leading in today’s schools is demanding work.
Supporting neurodivergent students often means juggling complex needs, tight timetables, paperwork, and expectations — all while trying to stay calm and keep the classroom (and yourself) connected and productive.
For teachers and support staff, that can feel like constantly managing, adapting, and holding it all together.
For leaders, it can mean watching good staff burn out, morale dip, and the ripple effect of stress spread through your team.
At Safe to Grow, we see both sides — and we’re here to support both.
gives educators and leaders a shared language, framework, and set of tools to reduce stress across the whole system — helping teachers feel equipped and leaders feel confident their staff are supported.
It’s practical, evidence-based training that leads to calmer classrooms, fewer crises, and a stronger, more resilient school culture.
When staff wellbeing improves, classrooms change.
When classrooms change, students thrive.
Whether you’re a teacher trying to find new ways to support your students, or a leader looking to build capacity across your team, we can help you make that shift — one strategy, one conversation, one student at a time.
